Water Rail Way
For cycling with the family you might want to go off-road. Water Rail Way was built on an old railway line between Lincoln and Boston and for most of the journey the River Witham runs by your side. Spa Trail is also on a former railway line and connects Woodhall Spa and Horncastle and it goes through woods, more open countryside and sometimes with the Horncastle Canal as your companion. Both paths feature artworks along the way providing some extra landmarks to discover.
make a day of it – Boston
Take time to uncover the charm and heritage of Boston at the start of Stage Two for a fascinating day out. Steeped in history, this vibrant market town invites you to explore the magnificent St Botolph’s Church—fondly known as “The Stump”—and wander through its bustling town centre filled with independent shops and cafes.
With its historic buildings and dramatic coastline, this east Lincolnshire market town has plenty of things to do and is ideally located just a short drive from Skegness and equidistant from Lincolnshire's Southern Countryside, Lincolnshire Wolds and Lincoln. There are many fine historic buildings including Maud Foster, the tallest working windmill in Britain and the last of the town’s 15 windmills.
Boston Belle - Enjoy a scenic cruise aboard Boston’s iconic riverboat, offering unique views of the waterways and surrounding landscape.
Boston Guildhall – One of England’s finest medieval guildhalls, showcasing centuries of history, heritage and local stories.
St. Botolph's Church – Known as the “Boston Stump”, this magnificent landmark church dominates the skyline and is one of the largest parish churches in England.
